What happens during the procedure?

Before the procedure, a numbing agent is applied to the target area. During the treatment, the PicoWay handpiece delivers energy with an extremely precise, high-power laser that shatters the tattoo ink into minuscule particles. You may be able to see initial improvement as early as after the first treatment; however, multiple treatment sessions are typically needed to completely remove a tattoo.

Can I return to normal activities after treatment?

Pain is managed using topical or injectable anesthetic as well as cooling measures to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. There is little-to-no downtime. Most people are able to return to their activities of daily living shortly after treatment. You may need a bandage to keep the treatment area dry for a few days following tattoo removal.
