About George Kroumpouzos

George Kroumpouzos, MD, PhD, FAAD, is the Founder and Medical Director of GK Dermatology and serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at Brown University. He also holds a Professorship in Dermatology (Collaborator) at Jundiaí Medical School in São Paulo, Brazil, and has previously taught at Harvard Medical School. Board-certified in dermatology in both the United States and Europe, Dr. Kroumpouzos brings a global perspective to his work.

With over two decades of clinical dermatology experience and more than 30 years dedicated to research, Dr. Kroumpouzos specializes in procedural, cosmetic, and laser dermatology, as well as phototherapy, gynecologic/obstetric skin conditions, pigmentation disorders, and skin cancer. He has completed advanced training alongside some of the nation's top cosmetic, Mohs, and laser surgeons.

Dr. Kroumpouzos plays an active role in the academic dermatology community. He serves on the boards of the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology and the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine. He is also a key editorial contributor—Associate Editor for International Journal of Women’s Dermatology and Dermatologic Therapy, Editor for the Aesthetic Dermatology section of Clinics in Dermatology, and Topic Editor for Cosmetics.

His scholarly work includes over 165 peer-reviewed articles, 40 book chapters, and editorial contributions to seven dermatology books and monographs—including Text Atlas of Obstetric Dermatology, a landmark resource in the field. A dedicated educator, Dr. Kroumpouzos is a frequent speaker at major conferences and has chaired expert panels around the world. His contributions to dermatologic education have earned him numerous accolades, including the Teacher of the Year Award and Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award from Brown University.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Kroumpouzos is an avid swimmer, skier, and tennis player. He also enjoys the arts, music, literature, and immersing himself in different cultures through travel. A native of Greece, he treasures spending summers there with his family. He currently resides in Milton, Massachusetts, with his wife and two daughters.
