About Cristian Gonzalez
Cristian Gonzalez, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist dedicated to providing comprehensive general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care.
Dr. Gonzalez was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. He then completed his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed a clinical research fellowship at the University of Colorado after receiving a competitive research grant from the National Cancer Institute to study sun protection and skin-cancer-reducing behaviors in the Latino tattoo community. Dr. Gonzalez completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Utah and his dermatology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern.
Dr. Gonzalez has clinical interests across all aspects of the field, with a particular focus on cosmetic dermatology and skin cancer detection. He performs fillers, neurotoxins, Kybella, chemical peels, microneedling with radiofrequency, and laser procedures. He strives to provide each patient with a natural and youthful appearance by restoring and enhancing their natural features. He uses cutting-edge technology and photography to monitor concerning moles and detect early skin cancers.
He is the lead author of numerous studies and has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles in leading medical and cosmetic dermatology journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, Dermatologic Surgery, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, and Photodermatology, Photoimmunology and Photomedicine, among others. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Gonzalez enjoys weightlifting, traveling, and spending time with his four chihuahuas.
